In this illustrated public lecture\, sociologist and biographer Anne Byrne draws from a newly uncovered cache of letters between two Irish bishops and the celebrated Russian mosaicist Boris Anrep to reveal the personal and political events behind these remarkable works of art. \n‘Using Lettering in Mosaic’ \nDiscover how to ceate natural flow\, spacing and consistency with mosaic lettering with glass and mosaic artist Vanessa Power. \nAgenda \n11 am: Vanessa Power \n12 pm: Anne Byrne \n1 pm: Lunch: Greville Arms Hotel \n2 pm Launch of MAAI’s new website \n3 pm: Visit to Boris Anrep mosaics in Mullingar Cathedral \nSpeakers \nProfessor Anne Byrne\, a sociologist\, biographer\, and researcher who works with photographs\, letters and diaries to explore what lies between the image and the word.
